Born in 1923 at Almora, UP in India. Joined his guru, Swami Sivananda Saraswati, in the Himalayan town of Rishikesh in 1943. Completed his sannyasa training and began parivrajaka life in 1956. Wandered extensively throughout India. Realized his mission and funded the following movements at Munger : the International Yoga Fellowship movement in 1962, Bihar School of Yoga in 1964 ,Sivananda Math and the Yoga Research Foundation in 1984. Recognized as an adept and authority of the deepest esoteric knowledge by saints and sages throughout India in 1973. Has travelled widely to all conrners of the globe, spreading the message of Yoga, and guiding and inspiring countless disciples, aspriants, ashrams and centers..
